New York Wedding & Reception Venues: Manhattan and Long Island

A garden portrait on Long Island. A reception beneath a Manhattan dome. Two real celebrations, two different settings.

New York wedding plans can mean very different places. Sand Castle is in Franklin Square on Long Island; Cipriani Wall Street is in Lower Manhattan. This guide brings those locations into focus through Bhavna and Ricky’s wedding-day portraits and Anjali and Aditya’s reception photographs.

These are two photographed celebrations, not a ranking or a directory of every New York venue. Use the images to explore the atmosphere, then ask the venue and your creative team how your own timeline, ceremony and guests will fit.

A sense of place

Long Island · Franklin Square

Garden surroundings and a quiet wedding-day portrait.

Sand Castle

505 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square, NY 11010

Bhavna and Ricky’s portrait places them beside Sand Castle’s stone gazebo and fountain, framed by tall greenery and bright garden flowers. It shows the grounds as part of their wedding story, rather than a ceremony in progress.

Sand Castle identifies its location as Franklin Square in Nassau County and describes outdoor ceremony settings and an indoor glass atrium. For your own plans, ask which spaces are included, where portraits can happen and what the weather alternative would be. A garden photograph does not establish access or ceremony arrangements for a future booking.

A sense of place

New York City · Lower Manhattan

Cipriani Wall Street

55 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005

Anjali and Aditya’s reception photographs show two sides of Cipriani Wall Street: the scale of its illuminated hall and the couple greeting guests from above. The hall image preserves the lettering in the original photographic edit; the second frame keeps the people at the center of the story.

The venue’s official page describes its Lower Manhattan setting, Greek Revival architecture, dome and mezzanine. This is the Wall Street location, not Cipriani 42nd Street, South Street or 25 Broadway. Ask which spaces and access routes your booking includes, and coordinate reception lighting with your photography and film team.

Thoughtful preparation

Choose the geography before the portrait route

A Manhattan reception and a Long Island wedding need different movement plans. Start with the exact addresses for preparation, ceremony, reception and guest accommodation, then decide whether an extra portrait stop belongs in the day at all. These two featured couples are separate celebrations, not a suggested same-day route.

If your own schedule crosses between the city and Long Island, ask your planner to build the route around the event date and actual departure times. Include loading, parking, drop-off, outfit changes and gathering family, rather than treating the drive as the only transition. No fixed travel time can substitute for that plan.

Let the setting earn its place in the photographs

At Sand Castle, the full garden frame gives the couple room within the gazebo, fountain and greenery. At Cipriani Wall Street, the tall frame holds the dome and reception below. Discuss whether you want those wide setting photographs alongside close portraits, family groups and the moments between you.

Ask when each location is available to your team and how portraits fit around the ceremony or reception entrance. Arrange any indoor alternative in advance. The best-looking spot in a venue is only useful if reaching it does not pull you away from the people and moments you want to remember.

Build a reception plan for both photographs and film

Before the day, share the entrance plan, speeches, performances and any lighting changes with your creative team. For a large architectural room, discuss where the cameras can work without blocking guests and whether there is time to record the room before it fills.

Confirm vendor arrival, equipment access and the spaces reserved for your booking directly with the venue. If your celebration includes a mandap, sacred fire, baraat or other specific arrangements, discuss those requirements with the venue and officiant rather than assuming that a previous wedding establishes permission.

Your questions,
before the day.

Are both featured venues in New York City?

No. Cipriani Wall Street is in Manhattan, New York City. Sand Castle is in Franklin Square, Nassau County, on Long Island. The exact address appears with each venue.

What do the photographs show?

The Sand Castle photograph is a wedding-day couple portrait in the grounds. The Cipriani images show Anjali and Aditya’s reception setting and their greeting to guests. They are not presented as photographs of a ceremony at either location.

Does this guide cover New Jersey or upstate New York?

No. These two features are in Manhattan and on Long Island. Share the exact address if your plans include New Jersey, the Hudson Valley or another upstate location so the coverage and travel discussion matches your actual celebration.

Can you confirm venue prices, availability or capacities?

Ask each venue for a current proposal for your date, room layout and guest count. This guide focuses on real photographs and planning questions, not guaranteed venue availability or packages.
