A WEDDING JOURNAL BY URBAN PHULKARI
The joy of
finding each other.
Paul & Gureet
A story of comfort, laughter,
and the people who feel like home.
01 · THE WEDDING PORTRAITS
Light that shapes
the story.
For the wedding portraits, Gureet’s red bridal attire sits against darker architectural frames and deep green foliage. We move between those intimate compositions and wider photographs where palms and the landscape surround the couple.
Each setting changes the scale of the image. Their presence holds the sequence together.
THE WEDDING MORNING
The people beside her.
02 · THE CELEBRATION
Tradition, held
in a personal frame.
Their Sikh wedding brings the story into a setting filled with flowers and family. A photograph beneath the canopy holds the couple within the ceremony; a portrait on the sand brings a different sense of movement and scale.
In the film, Gureet remembers how Paul’s kindness and happy energy made her feel comfortable from early in their relationship. That ease is the thread we return to: beyond the setting and the wedding attire, two people who enjoy being together.
THE ARRIVAL
A celebration in motion.
THE CEREMONY
The moments around the vows.
03 · THE RING CEREMONY
The connection,
up close.
The ring-ceremony photographs bring another palette: evening attire, warm colour, and the intimacy of a close portrait. A wider frame on the sand gives that closeness room to breathe.
Together, these selected images tell their story through changes of light and place, always returning to the feeling Gureet describes—comfort, happiness, and someone to laugh with.
04 · BEFORE THE WEDDING
Room for just
the two of them.
In her wedding film, Gureet describes love through happiness, comfort, and having someone to laugh and smile with. When she speaks about Paul, that feeling becomes wonderfully simple: they make each other happy.
Their seaside portraits hold that same ease. We let the ocean and open sky create space around them, then move closer to the embrace. The photographs hold both the atmosphere of the coast and the connection at the center of it.
THE PORTRAIT SESSION
A change of scene.
The same feeling.
A black-and-white frame finds a quieter moment inside the car. Outside, the red bodywork brings a bolder note to the coastal setting. Light, contrast, and composition give each photograph a different mood while keeping the couple’s connection in focus.
